Course Overview
Order Flow Mastery is a comprehensive trading course from The Volume Traders, led by instructor Seb. The course is built around footprint charts and order flow analysis — a more granular approach to reading markets than standard price action or indicator-based trading. Rather than relying on lagging signals, order flow analysis works with the actual buying and selling activity happening inside each bar, giving traders a more direct read on what market participants are doing in real time.
The 2024 edition runs across eleven modules, moving from platform setup through to live trade execution criteria.
What the Course Covers
Module 1 — Foundations and Mindset
The course opens with Seb’s background and what he brings to the material, alongside an honest look at what it actually takes to succeed in trading. The mindset section isn’t filler — understanding why most traders struggle before addressing the technical side is a more useful starting point than jumping straight into setups.
Modules 2 and 3 — Platform Setup
Two setup pathways are covered. Module 2 walks through NinjaTrader 8 with MZpack indicators — the primary environment for order flow analysis in the course. Module 3 covers an alternative setup using MetaTrader 5 with Cluster Delta for traders who prefer that platform. Both are covered in enough detail to get properly configured before the analytical work begins.
Module 4 — Supply and Demand
Covers how to identify high-probability supply and demand zones, how to use indicators to verify them, and how to mark zones consistently on your charts. This forms the structural foundation that the order flow analysis later builds on.
Module 5 — Key Levels
What distinguishes a genuinely significant price level from background noise, how to identify them reliably, and how to incorporate them into trading decisions.
Module 6 — Market Structure
How to read the market from a broader perspective — establishing a daily directional bias, understanding accumulation and distribution phases, and developing a consistent framework for viewing price movement before drilling down to shorter timeframes.
Module 7 — Compression and Liquidity Grabs
Covers manipulation patterns — the price behaviour designed to trigger stop losses and sweep liquidity before the real move develops. Understanding these patterns adds a useful layer of context to entries and helps avoid getting caught on the wrong side of engineered moves.
Module 8 — Footprint Charts and Order Flow
The core technical section of the course. Covers how to read and interpret footprint charts from the ground up, how to trade absorption setups, and how to integrate footprint analysis with the supply, demand, and structure work from the earlier modules. This is where the order flow methodology comes together practically.
Module 9 — Imbalances
How to identify imbalances within the order flow and use them to anticipate potential turning points or trend continuations. Covers how imbalance analysis works alongside the broader framework rather than as a standalone signal.
Module 10 — Absorption: Passive and Aggressive Orders
A detailed look at absorption — what it means when large passive orders are absorbing aggressive order flow, how to identify it on footprint charts, and what it typically signals about the next directional move.
Module 11 — Entries, Take Profits, and Trade Management
The final module brings everything together at the execution level: how to define entry criteria across different market conditions, how to set and manage take profit levels, and the principles that underpin consistent, well-structured trade execution.
Order Flow Mastery is suited to traders who already have a basic understanding of markets and want to develop a more sophisticated, data-driven approach to reading price. The dual platform setup means it’s accessible regardless of whether you’re using NinjaTrader or MetaTrader, and the structured progression from market context through to execution makes it a practical curriculum to work through from start to finish. If order flow is an area you’ve been meaning to develop properly, Seb’s eleven-module framework gives you a thorough foundation to build from.
